The FUOCOMUORTO farm is located in Ercolano, province of Naples, in the Croce dei Monti district, which climbs the slopes of Vesuvius, at an altitude of 350/400 meters above sea level, in the middle of Vesuvius National Park.
The farm covers 3 hectares of land, 2 hectares of which are vineyards and 1 hectare of olive groves.
It is destined for viticulture two and a half hectares of land that unravels on several terraces obtained through the construction of masonry works that allow virtually constant exposure to the sun throughout the day. It is therefore located in the mid-hills, characterized by the mild, well-ventilated climate, without stagnant spring and summer moisture, with soils of volcanic origin, well-structured, right degree of insolation and rainfall. The two varieties of vines typical of the Vesuvian area and which are included in the regulations for the production of the ?Vesuvio D.O.C.? wine, Caprettone for the white Lacryma christi and Piedirosso, for the red Lacryma christi, are cultivated.
Processing concerns only the estate's own grapes and takes place in suitable premises, while storage and maturation of the bottled wine takes place in a natural cave, carved out under a slab of volcanic rock 4/5 meters deep, where temperature and humidity are almost constant throughout the year, excavated in 1780. There is also a Bed&breakfast on the farm that can accommodate 6 people in three bedrooms, equipped with bathrooms and a large kitchen. There is also a tasting room for tastings of the farm's wines.
