Royal Archconfraternity Holy Trinity

Rising in the 1600s, Ferdinand II, in 1850, awarded it the title of Archconfraternity because it was the oldest in Resina.

On the left side of the facade of S. Maria a Pugliano is the church of the Royal Archconfraternity of the Holy Trinity. Rising in the 1600s, Ferdinand II, in 1850, awarded it the title of Archconfraternity because it was the oldest in Resina. The same title was granted by Pius IX in 1851. The barrel-vaulted interior has coffers gilded in recent times and stucco cornices. In the apse is a small trunk with two marble columns in Corinthian style. The canvas depicts the Virgin and Child, God the Father, and the dove-Holy Spirit. On the left and right two wooden aedicules enclose statues of the Risen Christ and Our Lady of the Rosary. The most significant Work is the Brotherhood Choir of inlaid wood, executed in the 1700s. The Pulpit, in stucco, is from 1916. Also of note in the sacristy is an ancient bas-relief of the Redeemer.
